ABOUT SAMANTHA
Samantha started her own radio station at the age of eight in her hometown of Guelph, ON. She would interview her sister and anyone else she could get near. She sang all the songs, did all the commercials, filling cassette tapes of audio that would turn into great comedy years later for her family. It was also a pretty straight path into radio after discovering she would never become the ‘Queen of Dirt Bikes’. Fast forward a number of decades and you’ll find Samantha doing mornings back in Calgary on XL103 with Buzz Bishop.
It’s been a long, fun road to arrive back in Calgary. Most recently, Samantha and her husband Rick, lived in Winnipeg where she left a piece of her heart, not because of how cold it was – and it is that cold – but because of the people. She was a board member with the Manitoba chapter of Women in Communications and Technology. Samantha was an annual rider in the Motorcycle Ride for Dad and the ATV Ride for Dad. She’s been recognized by the Winnipeg Humane Society for outstanding contributions and nominated for radio personality/team of the year with the MCMA. Samantha has also been the media spokesperson in the Dream Lottery for Kids in support of St. Boniface and Children’s Hospitals in Winnipeg.
Samantha spends her free time playing hockey in the winter and golfing equally as bad in the summer. She loves red wine, reading and lives for a good laugh. Samantha has called Toronto, Ottawa, and Winnipeg home and is thrilled to return to Calgary.
